Crystallo — Backlit Quartzite Kitchen, Los Angeles

ResidentialIlluminated Quartzite Kitchen2025

Backlit Quartzite Island & Specialty Stone Fabrication — Los Angeles, CA

The Crystallo project showcases a dramatic backlit quartzite kitchen island — one of the most technically demanding specialty stone installations in our portfolio. The translucent quartzite panels were precision-cut, book-matched, and mounted with custom LED backlighting to create a luminous centerpiece for this Los Angeles luxury residence.

Backlit Quartzite Stone Feature in Los Angeles

This custom quartzite installation was designed as a dramatic architectural feature, using backlighting to highlight the natural depth, movement, and translucency of the stone. The project required precise fabrication and careful installation to achieve a clean and evenly illuminated result.

West Coast Custom Stonework specializes in premium quartzite, marble, and granite fabrication for kitchens, bathrooms, and custom interiors across Los Angeles and Southern California.

Backlit Crystallo quartzite fabrication notes

This Crystallo quartzite kitchen required a more controlled layout than a typical slab installation because backlighting makes stone movement, seams, edges, and substrate conditions more visible.

The fabrication process focused on preserving the translucent character of the quartzite while keeping the island, countertop edges, and illuminated stone surfaces clean, balanced, and installation-ready.

Backlit quartzite kitchen approach

Backlit quartzite requires a controlled fabrication sequence: slab layout, cut accuracy, edge finish, substrate planning, and installation all affect the final glow. Small imperfections become more visible when a slab is illuminated, so the planning has to be more exact than on a standard counter.

This project is closely related to our quartzite countertop fabrication in Los Angeles and high-end custom kitchen countertop work.
